Awareness. Prevention. Education. Family.
Did you know that one man in five dies before the age of 65? The Men’s Health Forum wants to raise awareness of men’s health issues and how institutions worldwide can develop health policies and services that meet the specific needs of men, boys and their families.
Therefore, the month of June is dedicated to men’s health where the aim is to raise awareness of the health issues that impact boys and men.
Having recently had an operation myself, I realised the importance of being fit for your operation. I advise everyone (regardless of age) to ensure that you maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle as it will benefit you as a person. You need to make sure that you exercise, eat right and see your doctor regularly.
Here are some things that men need to do in order to raise awareness of their health.
According to Congressman Bill Richardson (Congressional Record, H3905-H3906, May 24, 1994):
“Recognizing and preventing men’s health problems is not just a man’s issue.
Because of its impact on wives, mothers, daughters, and sisters, men’s health is truly a family issue.”
