Thamesbank Credit Union is biting back against loan sharks
Thamesbank was recently awarded partnership status by the Illegal Money Lending Team (IMLT) nationwide.
We are lending our support to the national campaign, ‘Stop Loan Sharks’, aimed at tackling loan sharks and raising awareness of where people can seek help.
A loan shark is someone who lends money without authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). They often tend to initially appear friendly and helpful but can then turn to violent and aggressive behaviour to force victims to repay the loans with huge interest and extortionate penalties.
Learn more about the ‘Stop Loan Sharks’ campaign from our website.
Why now is a good time to ask ThamesBank Credit Union for a loan
It is commonly believed that a high rate of inflation is a bad thing for families’ finances. However, this is not entirely true. If you are a borrower, rising inflation can actually be good for your finances. Find out why from our website.
How well do you know Hounslow?
Hounslow is one of the areas that we serve as Thamesbank Credit Union.
Did you know that according to the 2011 census, over 43% of people in Hounslow were born outside the UK and it is one of the most diverse London boroughs with over 100 languages spoken?
This is one of the interesting facts about the borough. Learn more about Hounslow from our website.
Get a loan top-up
We are now offering our members a top-up of £250 after three months and a second top-up of £250 after a further three months on their loans. After the second top-up, they will need to then wait to clear the loan and can then start the process again.
How do I top up my loan?
Simply contact us to let us know that you would like to top up your loan and we will do the rest. You can also do this on the Members Area of the website.
Which loan does it apply to?
This only applies to your Child Benefit Loan if you borrowed £500.
